May 9, 2019 Breakfast: Gender Diversity Panel
May 9 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am$35 – $55
Embracing Gender Diversity
A rare opportunity for frank and brave dialogue uncovering firsthand experiences of gender identity
Workshop following breakfast from 9:30am to 11:30am – two options during registration
How do we talk respectfully about gender when the ‘binary construct’ of female/male most of us have lived with since birth doesn’t fit the spectrum of identities in our communities today? And how do we open ourselves to understand this spectrum so that we can better embrace each other professionally, and personally?
Join WBE for this special double-event featuring a rare opportunity for frank and brave dialogue uncovering firsthand experiences of gender identity, followed by a powerful, interactive workshop to build your skills as an ally in service to creating inclusion.
The May WBE Breakfast will bring together a diverse circle of guests in a facilitated ‘fishbowl’ conversation format that you can observe or join. WBE has created this opportunity to ask sensitive questions, explore assumptions, learn the importance of pronouns, affirmed identities, and other factors of gender diversity. Our guests include:
Rosetta Lee (she/her or they/them) Dialogue Facilitator, Faculty & Outreach Specialist at Seattle Girls School
Aidan Key (he/him) Founder & Executive Director of Gender Diversity
Anastacia-Renee (she/her) Seattle Civic Poet, Author, Workshop Facilitator
Ginger Chien (she/her) Storyteller, Musician, Public Speaker, Device Technologist for AT&T
